The Pentagon's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) paid $26 million to neurobiologist Miguel Nicolelis with Duke University Medical Center, who is heading research in brain-to-brain communication.  He successfully linked the thoughts of a rat in Brazil to the mind of a rat in the United States via electronic sensor interchange, which was transmitted by computer internet from one rat to the other.  Nicolelis is now using monkeys in his research.
